Transport from Antigua to Lake Atitlan
December 31 2009
When we prepared our trip to Guatemala, we planned on renting a car so we could be visit around the lake and be independant to leave whenever we wanted.
Well, I was strongly advised by locals not to do so! So, we ended up by taking a small van to go from Antigua to Panajachel (commonly called Pana). Let me tell you that it was a good advise: narrow windy road (only one) with overspeeding chicken buses coming out of a turn without expecting them. Challenging road but absolute gorgious scenery when you get there.
On the way back, we took a packed (over 12 people) collective van that took us from Pana to Guatemala City.
