Climatic conditions in Sweden

Despite its northern location, Sweden has a relatively temperate climate, which varies depending on the regions. Summers can be warm but they are shorter in the north; winters can be very harsh, especially in the north. It is possible to see the midnight sun between mid-May and mid-June, if you are beyond the polar circle.

When to go to Sweden

The best time to visit Sweden is between May and September, though hikers and campers often avoid the mosquito season, in June and July. Some cities get more than 17 hours of sun in summer, and north of the Arctic Circle you can experience the midnight sun.
