Amsterdam’s airport evacuated due to bomb threat

Today, Monday, February 13th, the international terminals 1 and 2 have been evacuated at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport following a bomb threat. The terminals are said to reopen shortly. Meanwhile, residual flight delays remain possible in the coming hours. Train traffic is not affected.

Amsterdam’s airport has face terrorist threats in the past. In 2009, a Nigerian student managed to access to a flight from Schiphol to Detroit with chemical explosives. Amsterdam-Schiphol is one of Europe's busiest airports with around 40 million flights per year.

Travellers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport
